Washington County Kids Get To “Shop with a Cop”

 

WHO: The Salvation Army, Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Hillsboro Police Department

WHAT: 20 children will “Shop with a Cop” to pick out the tools they need to succeed for this upcoming school year while building positive experiences with officers.

WHEN: Wednesday, August 14 at 8:00 AM 

WHERE: Fred Meyer at 22075 NE Imbrie Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124

WHY: For over 10 years The Salvation Army in Washington County has partnered with Fred Meyer and local law enforcement to help kids get ready to go back to school. The simple act of providing school supplies to students in need provides them a boost of self-confidence and sets them up for a positive and successful school year.

On Wednesday, August 14 at 8:00 AM, The Salvation Army will partner with Fred Meyer, Washington County Sheriff’s Department and Hillsboro Police Department for their annual “Shop with a Cop” event at Fred Meyer at 22075 NE Imbrie Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124

For over 10 years The Salvation Army in Washington County has partnered with Fred Meyer and local law enforcement to help kids get ready to go back to school. Participating kids are identified through The Salvation Army’s social services programs and are selected based on financial need.

“Shop with a Cop” pairs officers with local children in need of support for back-to-school supplies. The pairs will work their way around Fred Meyer store, 22075 NE Imbrie Dr, Hillsboro, OR 97124, buying back-to-school clothes and supplies.
