The Salvation Army Brings Hope to Families in Despair at Christmas Through Angel Tree Children’s Gift Program

Amidst a second COVID-19 Christmas, The Salvation Army sets out to assist 2,000 families in need in the Portland Metro Area

(Portland, Oregon) November 17, 2021- The Salvation Army Portland Metro wants to rescue Christmas for 2,000 families this season through The Angel Tree Program. Recognizing that every child deserves to feel the joy of Christmas, The Salvation Army Angel Tree program provides toys to children and families who are in need each year.

Once a child is accepted as an Angel, donors can shop for their Christmas wish list. Simply visit PortlandAngelTree.org and make your gift to a child in the Portland Metro area today. Once the gifts are received, The Salvation Army will distribute them to families in need for Christmas morning.

To receive Christmas Assistance for children 0-12 years old through the Angel Tree Program:
• Apply online at SAAngeltree.org
• Enter your zip code and follow the prompts and upload all necessary documents:
o Identification for all adults in the home
o Proof of Address (No P.O. Boxes) such as electric or gas bill, internet bill, or bank statement.
o Birth certificate, school shot records, or Oregon Health. Plan Award letter – these MUST have
dates of birth

If you have any questions, please e-mail csmetrodept@usw.salvationarmy.org or call 503-794-3267.

The Salvation Army receives many of its gift donations from stores like Fred Meyer and Walmart. In 2020 The Angel Tree program received over 500 gift donations through the Fred Bear Toy Drive, which is Fred Meyer’s way of collecting toys for The Salvation Army.

Every donation provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay within the community in which they are given. You can support The Salvation Army Angel Tree program through the links provided at PortlandAngelTree.Org
