The Salvation Army Portland Metro Hires New Executive Director of West Women’s and Children’s Shelter and The Salvation Army Female Emergency Shelter

(Portland, Oregon) October 21, 2021 – The Salvation Army Portland Metro is pleased to announce the hiring of Justin Moshkowski as the Executive Director of the West Women’s and Children’s Shelter and The Salvation Army Female Emergency Shelter. Mr. Moshkowski comes to The Salvation Army with extensive domestic and international non-profit, pastoral, and military veteran experience. He holds a master’s in Global Studies from Liberty University and a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Northpoint Bible College. He served multiple combat tours in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Providing safe harbor for women and children who are in challenging circumstances is central to our mission at the West Women’s and Children’s Shelter and SAFES,” Moshkowski said “I’m looking forward to help extend the impact of these programs in the Portland Metro area.”

The West Women’s and Children’s Shelter sheltered over 113 women and children escaping domestic violence last year. Nearly 90 people were moved to safe, stable housing and over 10,000 bed nights of safe shelter were provided to women and children in need.
