PRICES ARE DROPPING AT THE SALVATION ARMY FAMILY STORE IN HILLSBORO

 The Salvation Army Announces Thrift Store in Hillsboro, Oregon Will Close To Be Fiscally Responsible

(August 27, 2019) Hillsboro, Oregon – The Salvation Army announced this week that its Thrift Store in Hillsboro will close effective September 16, 2019. The final day of sales will be September 15, 2019 from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

The Family Store, located at 1440 SE 21st Ave, Hillsboro, OR 97123 has been operated by The Salvation Army for 12 years. The store’s 13 employees were notified on July 29, 2019. 

The decision to close a store is based on fiscal responsibility. "The purpose of our thrift stores is to provide funding for our local Salvation Army program," said Major Daniel Henderson, Divisional Secretary, The Salvation Army Cascade Division.

"If a store is not profitable, it doesn't provide the money needed for services in the community. When a store loses money, it takes funding away from our services.”

The Salvation Army in the Portland Metro area will continue serving those in need after the closure of the thrift store. Our local services continue to be funded by donations from the community. The store will remain open through Saturday, September 15 until 6:00 PM. Store-wide clearance sale begins immediately through closing date of close effective September 16, 2019.

• August 28 - September 8 will be 50% off the store.
• September 9 - September 15 will be 75% off the store.

Daily shopping hours are Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM and on Sunday 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM. Our final day of sales will be September 15, 2019. Donations are no longer accepted at this location. Donations will continue to be accepted at The Salvation Army Family Stores.
