The Salvation Army Partners with Centro Cultural and Forest Grove School District

Organizations Work Together to Help Local Neighbors in Need

(Forest Grove, Oregon) December 17, 2021 – The Salvation Army is partnering with Centro Cultural and the Forest Grove School District to provide Christmas toys for 130 families in Forest Grove this holiday season. Every winter, Centro gathers a list of 200 families in need during the holiday season. The need this year was greater than
ever.

“This year there were 90 additional families on our waitlist for assistance,” said Ana Aranda, Communications Officer for Centro, “We are grateful for community partners like The Salvation Army who come together during this time of need to make holiday baskets and accommodate the additional families who otherwise wouldn’t have been able to receive a basket.”

Additionally, Forest Grove School District asked each school in their district to pick 2-4 families in who had the greatest need this holiday season. The Salvation Army is providing toys for the children in those families.

“We have many families in our district that need assistance.” said David Warner, Director of Communications & Engagement at Forest Grove School District, “It is through important community partnerships, like the Salvation Army, that our families are able to receive additional support during this important time of year.”

Distribution for Centro and Forest Grove School District will take place at Centro Cultural (1110 North Adair Street Cornelius, OR 97113) on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Noon.
